Ian is a proud fifth generation funeral director in the Martyn family. He was born in North Bay in 1965 to Anne and the late George Martyn. Ian is married to Jody Sloan, also a funeral director, and together they have two sons and two daughters; Zachary, Jacob, Sloan and Rowan. Ian graduated from West Ferris Secondary School and went on to graduate from the Funeral Service Education Program at Humber College. In 1990, after five years of practical experience in funeral service in Toronto, Ian joined the family business. He has served as the President of the Northeastern Ontario Funeral Service Association, is an active member of St. Andrew’s United Church, the North Bay Rotary Club, has volunteered with Big Brothers and is an associate member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #23. Ian is a true "canoe-head" and outdoor enthusiast, who loves adventure and spending time with his family.

Born and raised in New Liskeard, Ontario. Kirk married Sue Jemmett (formerly of New Liskeard) in 1979. They reside in North Bay and have two daughters Shauna & Ashley. Kirk has been licensed since 1977. He is a long time member of the Martyn funeral home staff, and is very active in funeral service. He served as Past President of the Ontario Funeral Service Association in 1997-1998, and is a former Chairman of the Public Awareness Committee of OFSA in which he participated in the development and implementation of the largest media campaign ever conducted by the association. Kirk was elected and served on the Board of Funeral Services of Ontario. Kirk is an active member of the United Church, volunteering on several church committees. With a keen interest in woodworking, he has spent several years expanding his woodworking skills.

Jody graduated from Widdifield Secondary School before graduating with honours from the Funeral Service Education Program at Humber College, Toronto. She apprenticed with Martyn Funeral Home from 1997-98. For the next couple of years she was employed with Giffen-Mack Funeral Home in Toronto before returning to her hometown of North Bay. Jody has varied and extensive experience in funeral service, having worked with many multi-cultural faiths. She also spent many years working for her family's funeral transfer service and monument company. Jody has had training in Perinatal Bereavement, and is the Co-ordinator of the "Continuing Care" program for Martyn Funeral Home families. She has served as a volunteer on the Bereavement Committee for Near North Palliative Care Network, the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, and always looks forward to organizing her team for the Canadian Cancer Society’s annual Relay for Life. Jody is married to Ian Martyn, also a funeral director. She is a very proud and busy mom to son Jacob, daughters Sloan & Rowan, and step-son Zachary!

Mac Bain is a third term Councillor (first elected in 2003) and Vice-Chair of the Engineering & Works Committee of Council. Mac also sits on North Bay-Parry Sound District Health Unit (former Board Chair), the Federation of Northern Ontario Municipalities (Past President), the, Association of Municipalities of Ontario (Director), the Waste Resources Liaison Committee, was the former Chair of the North Bay Hydro Distributing Company and was a Board Member of Waste Diversion Ontario..
Mac graduated from West Ferris Secondary School in 1982, and went on to study Funeral Service Education at Humber College in Toronto. After graduation from Humber in 1985, Mac joined the staff at Martyn Funeral Home, where he had apprenticed the year before. He is presently the Vice-Chair of the Board of Funeral Service and was a Past President of the North Eastern Ontario Funeral Directors Association.
Mac has an acute interest in politics. He served on council in Callander, before moving to North Bay in 1992. He has served as President for the Federal and Provincial Nipissing Liberal Association, and was a former 3 term director of the North Bay Chamber of Commerce.

He really enjoys time with his wife, daughters and three grandchildren.  When time permits Mac likes to golf, work on home improvement projects and vacations away with his wife!

Amy was born in Hamilton, Ontario, the daughter of John Doyle (Sheryl) and the late Darlene (nee Skinulis) Doyle.  She graduated as Valedictorian from French River District Secondary School in 1999.  Amy began her career in funeral service at Park Lawn Cemetery, Crematorium & Mausoleum in Sudbury where she became a licenced Cremation Operator, and worked for 6 years before deciding to go back to school to study Funeral Services Education at Humber College in Toronto.  She completed her apprenticeship at Martyn Funeral Home in 2008, and after graduating from the Funeral Service Education program in 2009, she joined the Martyn Funeral Home staff.  In the fall of 2009, Amy received the Northeastern Ontario Funeral Service Association Award.  She enjoys playing baseball, volleyball and spending time with her family and friends.

Born and raised in Timmins, Ontario, Lara moved to North Bay in 1992. She graduated with honours from the Funeral Service Education Program at Humber College and received her Funeral Director’s licence in 2008. She is thrilled to be the newest member of the Martyn Funeral Home team. Before returning to school, Lara was proud to be in another caring profession for 12 years; working as a veterinary assistant/technician at the Callander Animal Hospital. She and her husband Rob Ferron are very active in the local theatre community. Lara has been a member of the Gateway Theatre Guild since 2002. She has produced or worked behind the scenes on several shows, and served as President of the Executive for 3 years. She is also a member of Dreamcoat Fantasy Theatre.
