Pre-Payment Options

1. Payment in full
Money is placed in trust with Guaranteed Funeral Deposits (Fraternal) of Canada PIF (Premium Investment Fund Certificates) With this option, the Martyn Funeral Home services contracted for will be guaranteed - no further payment will be required unless changes are made to the original contract or additional disbursements are required at time of need.

2. Partial payment
Payments can be made as regularly or sporadically as beneficiary wishes. Money is held in trust with Guaranteed Funeral Deposits Time Payment Acct – a contract is set but the cost is not guaranteed. The funeral cost will be guaranteed once final payment is made and it will be based on the price list in effect at that time.

3. No payment
Prearrangement for services can be made without payment but the contract amount will not be guaranteed. This will, however, provide the peace of mind to the surviving family members of having some of the decisions made and some necessary information recorded.

4. Insurance Contract
Purchase of policy (in the amount of Funeral Contract) through Assuant Life of Canada.

a) If paid in full, beneficiary will pay a percentage (based on age, it is anywhere from .5 to 10%) less than the contract amount but will have full coverage of contract amount.

b) If not paid in full, beneficiary may choose annual or monthly premiums – these are charged based on the contract (benefit) amount, age of beneficiary, and time period chosen. Time periods offered are 1 year, 3 years, 5 years, or 10 years. For policies paid over a 3, 5, or 10 year period, the death benefit (contract) amount will be paid in full after two years even if beneficiary dies before payments are finished.

5. Annuity Plan
Purchase of Annuity through Assuant Life of Canada. Time payments available from 1 to 5 years. If payment plan is chosen, the funeral is not guaranteed until final payment is made but your money grows tax free.
